The mission statement of The East Lake Community Library (ELCL) is to provide courteous, efficient and accurate information that meets the recreational, educational, and informational needs of the East Lake community. Emphasis is placed on current, high demand materials.
The East Lake Library offers many programs to the community here in Palm Harbor, FL. For youth, the programs include weekly puppet shows, weekly story time, occasional magic and comedy shows and art classes. Teens get together for Teen Library Council Meetings and enjoy such programs as author visits and movie nights. There are many different adult programs all the time, some of which are book discussion groups, book club, knitting nights, coffee cafe, writer's critique group, and authors showcase. Computer classes are held on a regular basis.
You can buy discounted books at the library too. The Friends of East Lake Community Library Book Nook is open 6 days a weeks and sells a variety of different used books for a nominal charge.
The East Lake Library is always looking for and appreciates volunteers.
